Give Angling a Go Day - will be happening on Sunday 1 October 2023
Originally planned for September, but postponed due to recent spell of hot weather, we have now rearranged the Give Angling A Go Day for Sunday 01-Oct-2023.
We are nearly fully booked with people who had signed up for the original event, however there are still a few places left. If you would like to book then please email Matt at pierce_matthew@yahoo.com.
We will have some capacity to teach people who turn up on the day without a booking - this will be on a first come first served basis.
Open to novices of any age, the Give Angling A Go day offers each participant a 40 minute introductory session when they can learn to bait their hook, cast their line and maybe even catch a fish! Experienced anglers will teach them all about it and what to do if they would like to go again.
Angling coach Matt Pierce says “Fishing is a highly absorbing pastime that brings you into direct contact with nature. This event is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested but doesn’t know where to start”.
Participants will need to sign in before fishing. Under 14s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. A licensed angling coach is running this event.
HAHAS formed in 2017 to improve access for anglers on Hampstead Heath, promote good angling practice and bring more people into the sport.
